It's Talk Like a Pirate Day. Ten years ago on this day Cute Guy At Work and I first spoke. Who'd have thought we'd end up having a kid we'd name after the Dread Pirate Roberts, huh.

In the middle of a hard day of getting bombarded with requests for complicated research, it sure does make everything better to get "just because" flowers delivered to you. Awwwww. [livejournal.com profile] c_m_i is the schmoopiest.

I got flowers at work!! Drew is the bestest person ever.

I'm not much of a girly girl, and I hate jewelry and tacky stuff, but sometimes a girl just likes to get flowers. Hee.

So here at work we got some free tickets to this totally awesome "Fun Fair and Awesome Traveling Zoo" that's coming through a town near us. They advertise a "real monkey farm," "the world's smallest and cutest yak" and a "unicow." It sounds pretty awesome, but upon perusing the company's website, it appears that they may not be the most... humane outfit out there.

My man should get massive props for the loverly bouquet of flowers he surprised me with yesterday. Awww. We've got some Conundrum and a nice steak dinner for this evening, and we will not argue about Daniel Johnston's songs this year. =P

I've been quiet recently, as nothing really major is going on. Just living my little day-to-day life. Monday Drew gave me a rose, just to make me happy. Have I mentioned lately how wonderful he is?

Just finished reading A Confederacy of Dunces, which was a fabulous read. Moving on to How to Make Love Like a Porn Star by Jenna Jameson. This is one tricksy book to read on the subway, there are lots of pictures.

So, uh, Games Workshop? Could you please not me charge me 4 times (in varying amounts) for the order I placed yesterday? Thanks. Now I'm on hold and being prodded to order some sort of prince thing for the battle of pelinor fields. So geektastic!

In other news, if I may proceed to be schmoopy for 20 seconds... Today marks the one year anniversary of my moving in with Drew. It also marks the 3 year anniversary of my moving to Metro-Boston Braintree.

I am Teh Awesome Girlfriend. But will let Drew tell his story, it's a good one.

I do love that Drew.

I'm back. With Big News. So for those of you who don't read Drew's journal, just go
here, as he wrote it up better than I could.

I'll give you a hint, though: I've got a new ring on my finger with which to fiddle.

Am feeling so darn domestic lately. I need to cook things!
I love the way salad looks, all bright and colorful.
So right now is the very first time I've been our apartment alone, and it's neat. I just made salad and fake meat for dinner, am blasting indie rock (and singing off-key), there's a breeze coming in through the window, and bunny's doing...something bunny-like. I'll be off to Miss T's soon for some girly tv-watching and cookie-eating time (though we'll see how well my "fat-free oatmeal chocolate chip" cookies fare). Forgive me for being a bit sappy, but I'm just feeling so happy right now. It's been almost a year, and Drew still makes me feel as giddy-happy as I did back in the day. Ack! So sappy.
So there's this girl in one of my classes who works in The Masons' library. How kickass is that? Apparantly crazy guys go in all the time to try to get members' names and to tell her their various "problems with the Masons." tee-hee.
Also, what the hell else is "Grendel" an allusion to besides the creature in Beowulf? My library director looked at me like I was insane when I told her the name of my rabbit.
I need a good recipe for banana bread, as the changing seasons make me want to bake stuff.
