Now this site is one of the reasons why reading Metafilter sometimes pays off. It's a fantastic history of the London Underground, with lots of neat pictures of abandoned tunnels and stations. I could be entertained by this site all day.

Reminds me of being in London long ago and the tour guide took us on the Underground to a stop that was no longer active, or 'disused'. Creeped me out at the time imagining what might be going on back there...

Somewhere on the web there is a similar site about the abandoned stations on the New York City subway system, it's pretty cool. I've always been fascinated by "urban" archeology, more modern archeology.

There's an older movie about an ancient UFO that crashed into what would become London, next to a London Tube stop, where all sorts of hauntings take place...anyway, good cheesy fun...

Ooh, I've seen the NYC one, that is indeed very cool. There's a smaller site for the Boston T, but we don't have as many abandoned stations (there is one abandoned station you can see from the train between Harvard and Central, it's spooooky.

what's up lady?

hey, how do you remove someone from your "friends" list. I have this thing that put various quizzes and takes up a shit load of space that I want to get rid of. I think it's also fucking up my entries, because I can't read anything past March 9. Can you, for me?

Hey,

I can't do it for you, since I can't log in as you, but to do it: on your profile page, go to the "manage" link at the top, then click on "friends," then "edit friends." That should give you a page with check boxes next to all the people you list as friends (the first list is all the people who list you, so scroll down the page to the list of "your friends." Check the box next to what you want to get rid of, then scroll down and click on "save changes." That should do it.
