Alright, I am at 5,460 words for NaNoWriMo. Which is exactly where I'd aimed to be by the end of today, so I am pleased and proud. Yesterday it was easy, today it was a struggle. I spent most of today holed up in our back room at my little makeshift desk eeking out little bits, checking my word count, wondering how it took so long to just come up with a couple hundred words, repeating that process, wishing I didn't suck so hard. But I have decided that this is something that I really want to do, and when I really want something I usually find a way to make it happen. Being honest with myself about what I really want... that is sometimes a different story. Anyway. Sorry, I promise I won't be posting about the writing project that much this month, I'm sure it's not super interesting for everyone.

I'm reading a chick lit book right now, which I thought I'd never do because I do judge books by their covers, but I am surprised to report that I am completely loving it. It's written by a friend of a friend, or a cousin of a friend, I can't recall which, but it's set in Boston and it's about a librarian, and it involves romantic shenanigans. I am now going to reward my tired brain with last week's episode of Gossip Girl, finally, and then will try to not stay up too late to finish said chick lit book. Oh, and this weekend was awesome and tons of fun. I hope I won't have to become a total hermit for the rest of the month to get writing done.

I just wish the show was all about Chuck & Blair. Everyone else is so boring!

Is it Frenemies, by Megan Crane? If so - I find that there is something completely irresistable about her books (ever since I read English as a Second Language, her first, right about the same time I started dating an Englishman) that rise above standard chick lit fare - her characters are just extremely relatable, or something, especially the Simmons alum who lives in the Fens and works at an eccentric little library on the common. ;)

I have two episodes of Gossip Girl and three of Friday Night Lights to reward myself with at some point - unfortunately I have just run out of weekend. :(

You are kicking ass girl! I have been struggling all weekend with my novel. I haven't hit a stride yet. And I fell a bit short of my goal, but I just couldn't look at it anymore. So now I'm at around 4700.

That is a great word count! I'm not that far ahead of you at all. I know what you mean about not hitting a stride yet, though, yesterday it felt like pulling teeth. And I haven't managed to make very much happen yet. I need some plot! I was up at 5 am today, though, and it was not as painful as I thought it would be.

Good job, lady! I told you that you would both be kicking my ass at this! :)

Ok, so GG wasn't on Tivo for some reason, so I had to get it off iTunes this morning- I'm about halfway through right now (hopefully I'll finish it at lunch). Chuck! Blair! So awesome. Dan is actually not supremely annoying for once. Jenny is irritating as usual.

I...sort of half-heartedly started. And then switched stories completely, and then decided I wanted to try something else and then fell asleep before I could figure out what that would be. I lack discipline. Heh.

Eeeee! Yeah, Dan was not so annoying in this episode. But Jenny suck, always and forever. Down with Humphreys! Chuck and Blair make everything better, though...

You should combine all your story ideas into one SUPER STORY!
