Signed up for swimming "lessons" with West at the Y! This will either be delightful or a disaster, we'll see.

This morning West was playing with his kitchen set and announced "dinner's ready!" Hee.

Martha and I really enjoyed the swim classes at the Y. I bet he'll have a blast!

At 5, Martha still plays in her play kitchen and makes all kinds of fascinating dishes. I don't see an end to this activity any time in the near future, and it really does yield interesting results. It'll be fun to learn what West likes to whip up.

Cute!

(If they're a disaster, just take a break and try again in a year. I flipped out at my first swim lesson, but I got over it eventually.)

So fun!! We haven't done swimming yet but join the town pool complex for the summer and will float Parker around there. Last year he mostly stared at the other kids... I expect more of the same this year.

Aww...I remember wearing a bubble on my back and going to the Y with my Mom : ) Don't worry if he has a tantrum - swim teachers expect that to happen and have seen it all. I had to try to teach a first grader who shrieked at the top of his lungs the entire time any water was above his shoulders. His parents and I did get him to blow bubbles eventually. Its awesome that you are testing the waters (literally) with West early - I'm interested to hear how adventurous he is. They might just have him sit on the edge and splash his toes in the water the first time.
