Gloria's Wedding Dress Alteration Advice

Hi, Jen! My dress came from David's Bridal, but my sister-in-law took me to the little ol' lady who altered her dress. To be fair, all I needed to have done was a bustle, and it was the simplest thing -- 3 buttons, strategically placed and 3 loops on the train, strategically placed. It took all of 30 minutes to an hour. She did it WHILE I WAITED, and it cost me $15 or $25. :-) I think that a little ol' Italian lady with YEARS of seamstress work under her hands will be more than capable of handling your alterations. But ultimately, you need to go with your gut decision, in terms of whether or not you feel you can entrust your dress to her. (My guess is she'll probably cost less -- as David's Bridal charges an arm and a leg for alterations, and that makes for very disturbing wedding photos ... you know people always asking things like, "Hey, what happened to your arm?")
