Mar. 6th, 2011 09:28 pmTrying to wind down from a busy, busy weekend. Yesterday we ventured into Cambridge for a great brunch, I met an absolutely adorable new little baby, and we even got to walk around in the sunshine for a bit. West started losing it in the car when we got close to home, so I guess we called it a day at just the right time. Today we ran some errands, took a nice long walk outside, and grabbed lunch at Gulu.
This evening I got on the stick about making some more baby food, and now have cubes of peas and corn in freezer food stash. West tried pureed cantaloupe tonight and really liked it. So now he's had apple, pear, cantaloupe, carrot, sweet potato, squash, banana, avocado, rice cereal, and oatmeal cereal. I feel like I'm lagging behind in the baby food department and really need to be better about introducing a new food every 4 days, just to make sure we get lots of different foods into him. I should do some meat sometime soon, but quite frankly I'm a little nervous about making meat baby food. I might buy a thing of pre-made stuff just for the first try. It's really hard to find time for solids during weekdays, it's been working out well to send a his solids to daycare every day. I do feel like kind of a bad mom for relying on daycare for that, but by the time I get home in the evening he wants to nurse and I need him to for my own comfort, then there's play time and dinner to make, and before I know it it's bedtime.
