Oct. 17th, 2012 08:35 amAlright. I finally got myself a copy of Oh Crap! It's Potty Time. I think West is totally capable of learning this and the actual hold up to us starting has been my reluctance to deal with the lifestyle change of having to deal with toilets and addressing potty needs as they happen while we're out. Life is easier when you're just changing a diaper at a time and place that's convenient (ok, so maybe the backseat of the car or a grassy knoll in a parking lot isn't the most convenient thing ever). So really, I am ready to acknowledge that this is probably going to be harder for us than it is for him. I'm setting our start goal to be the first weekend in November because I have already promised my dad a visit in Maine this weekend and we have Drew's sister and my brother visiting the weekend after that. Then, it will be go time. The method involves a first day of being home, no pants/diaper all day, and watching kiddo like a hawk all day. I think I need a couple of weeks to stockpile ideas and supplies for keeping him busy for an entire day that does not involve a few hours out of the house on walks and at playgrounds. Admittedly, this day at home method kind of scares me. A lot.
