I am jealous of your book packing. Ever since I worked in the Bates Bookstore I have gotten a super high off packing books in boxes to maximize protection of the spine and minimize space.
Also, you can totally handle the moving boxes part yourself. Just think, Little Brian, Lucas and I moved our entire household ourselves in 2-3 day time spans Twice in the last 1.5 years. And I know what you are thinking but there were NO illicit uppers involved. And there is NO WAY you can have more books than us.
Do not underestimate the power of offering beer and food to a strong male friend to help the hubbie - then you can scurry around 'cleaning' and 'organizing' and not have to lift much of anything.
The most frustrating things are 1) furniture requiring disassembly and re-assembly; and 2) that inevitable piece of furniture that will not fit through the doorway or up the stairwell. SO you will totally be glad you are paying movers to handle some of that.
