All of the foodie threads on Ask MetaFilter are making me want to cook fancy food. Tonight I'll settle for Herbed Chicken Piccata and Broccoli with Shallot Butter. I've got these shallots that I really need to use- have you ever tried to look for shallots in the grocery store? It's tricksy. I thought they'd be with either the herbs or the onions, but they were hanging above the mushrooms, way out of my line of vision. I really wish I had a MeFi account, as I really wanted to chime in on one thread with one magical word: "Brine!" Brining is amazing. That's all. I've got to nuke myself some lunch now.
