Well, that was about as satisfying as a weekend can get. It involved a huge amount of lounging, and lounging is good.

Friday night we headed over to the Second Circle for tv and, um, camaraderie. Yay for camaraderie. Saturday Drew & I spent the day lazing about. I made 2 sad looking loaves of bread. They taste fine, they just didn't exactly rise much... or at all. Now that I think about it, though, I don't remember seeing bubbles in the sugar-water-yeast mix I made, so I think maybe the water wasn't warm enough. I need a thermometer for cooking stuff. Yesterday we hit the Galleria for a little shopping, then went to [livejournal.com profile] komos's place to watch him brew.

And that was that. Next Sunday I'm seeing Slint again, and they will rock.

An AskMetafilter question reminded me of the greatness of Tullycraft, and I looked 'em up, and lo, I see that there's a new album in the works! Twee Pop!

But I...

I'm a little sensitive, it's, um, that time of the month. Shut up, I'm a girl!

I'm really glad we went, it's always lovely to hang with you. =)

I really did feel bad. I do hope you had a decent time, though. ^_^

I doubt your bread was as sad looking as mine was. Sunday I decided to try and make Ciabatta only to end up with accidental flat bread and a huge mess.

Mine's pretty flat. I don't think the yeast did what it was supposed to do. I think next time I need to use the KitchenAid's dough hook thingie.

I aspire to a KitchenAid mixer.

Kneading will put you into intimate contact with your living food.

... and it will work your guns. It's really up to you which argument is more compelling.

what's up sis?
Forget about that Mars Volta show, it's on my last day of the semester. A must to attend. Shucks.

As your day nears, I wanted to check in and see if mother had you know changed her mind, as she has a tendency to do.
Also I have a few songs for you guys, I don't know what you want me to do with them. I could bring my ipod to the shindig, or I could just tell you which ones and perhaps you could add them. Trust me, they're good. Kind of Romantic and emo-y.

And when my paid account runs out here, does it go back automatically to a free account?

Man, that sucks. Any interest in Slint on the 20th of this month? I'd have to know really soon to get you a ticket, but it looks like they're still on sale.

I don't think so.. I'm still sending her an invite, but I don't think her mind will change, and mine certainly won't. Email me the songs, and I'll see if I can download them. If not, we can figure something out. I'm gonna have to go up to ME at some point next month anyway, so maybe I can borrow some then.

When the paid runs out, it will switch to free, unless you pay again. But free seems like it would work for you. The paid account lasts for a year, though- have you had an account that long? It seems like it wasn't that long ago that I got you onto this here thing.. *sniff* it was just like yesterday =)
