So yesterday was quite a lovely day. Tenille and I had some seriously girly time, which included shopping. Which inevitably leads to oohing and aahing at Crate & Barrel, Williams Sonoma and Pottery Barn. Mmmmmm, homegoods and furniture. Watched the Simpsons, and generally hung about reading and chit-chatting, as we are wont to do. I got a new book. I love books. I like the way they feel clutched in my little hands, I like reading 'em, I like everything about them. But, as some can attest to, my tiny attention span means that I start more books than I actually finish. I get bored and distracted way too easily.
Speaking of books, the more I deal with my collection here at work, the more I question the point of archiving some things. I, personally, don't see these books as being terribly useful to more than a teeny-tiny subset of the already tiny historical business research group of scholars. There's just not much to work with here. I think I have a problem with the idea that just because something is old automatically means that it's a foregone conclusion that it must be a) valuable, b) important or c) useful. I dunno. Guess I'm not really cut out to become an archivist, which is actually quite the Good Thing.
That is all.
