You know, as a child I always thought my parents were weird for getting frenzied about cleaning the house whenever their parents were visiting. I figured, hey, they must remember what kind of slob you were growing up, why would they expect anything different. But now I know. Drew's parents are visiting for the weekend, and on top of that, my dad is also visiting on Sunday. Last night I cleaned like I'd never cleaned before (well, that's a bit dramatic, but still, the place is in good shape now). Now I want to get home before they show up so I can throw on some makeup and make sure the bunnies haven't flung poop around the living room, as is their wont.

Wow. Did you know that John Kerry is not just more liberal than Ted Kennedy, but way more liberal than Kennedy? That's news to me.

I swear, I don't know why I bother trying to argue politics with my mom, but I always hold the hope that someday what I say will finally convince her. When someone is repeating party line, there's only so much I can say until it boils down to: "but that's just a lie!" Gah!
