Just returned from a live recording of This American Life, and Drew has totally won the award for Best Valentine's Present Ever. That was so enjoyable! I rank it as one of the top 5 live entertainment experiences I've had. There were funny stories, Mates of State played, and Ira Glass discussed in detail his love for The O.C. He confessed to singing along to the theme song every week. And then Mates of State played the theme song for The O.C. Very, very good.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Mates of State covered the phantom planet on their latest OC mix. That sounds like it was really cool.

My sister and I totally met one of the guys from Phantom planet at 3am on a layover on a flight back from vegas.
He was totally hitting on my sister, and vaguely annoyed with me cause I kept calling his band "Phantom Menace."

We got into it fairly recently. We especially enjoy putting an episode on while I make dinner, and then halfway through it I'll be done making din-din and we listen to the rest while we eat. It beats tv!

I love that damn show.
I didnt know that you could see it recorded.
The problem with listening to it, is twice I had to just sit in my car and hear the end instead of going food shopping.

This was a special fundraising/tour they're dong to a)get money and b)promote the tv show. I really hope they do something like this again, though, it was a blast. If I ever hear word that they're coming through town again, I'll let you know!

As a matter of fact, this show was part of their mini-tour to promote the tv show. They showed some clips of the show, it looks like they did a really good job with it! I'm so glad we get Showtime!!
