Wow, I haven't posted anything here in a while.
House hunting is... going. I do not understand why realtors aren't stumbling over themselves to help us- don't they want to make money?? I want my hand held through this whole process, damnit.
Also, I am effin' tired of the snow.
Also, also- I almost choked to death on my own spit today. Classy!
I am posting this meme that's been going around Facebook, because I don't have much else to post. And I would enjoy seeing other peoples' responses.
Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.
25. I've been learning kung-fu for 3 years and have bad ass bo-staff
skills. I have mediocre nunchuck skills and dangerously bad sword
skills.
24. My favorite color has always been purple.
23. I kind of liked doing social work until I had to call the
psychiatric ER to take away a homicidal homeless guy. I still see that
guy on the street sometimes.
22. I lived in the substance-free dorm in college and didn't touch a
drop of alcohol until sophomore year. Now where's my PBR?
21. I still miss my lip ring.
20. I love fake things that look like real things. This is especially
true about 1) tiki bars with mini waterfalls and 2) animatronics.
19. I know I shouldn't have a favorite pet, but Grendel is my favorite bunny.
18. Speaking of Grendel, I love making up stories about the
anthropomorphic things the bunnies do all day. Drew's stories are
funnier than mine, though.
17. In 8th grade I won my school's geography bee and went to the Maine
State Geography Bee. Most of that knowledge is now useless as it was
1991.
16. The first book with chapters I ever read was Charlotte's Web. One
of the first adult books I read was Gone with the Wind in 7th grade,
and I've read that book about a half dozen times.
15. I've been to England 4 times and I really want to live there.
14. The day after I got my driver's license I backed into my math
teacher's car.
13. I can't sleep with my ears uncovered. I heard about earwigs as a
child and it made an impression.
12. I really, really want to write a [good] novel.
11. I am afraid of spiders, flying, and failure.
10. I follow too much crappy celebrity news and know way too much
trivial celebrity gossip.
9. I was a vegetarian for two years, but gave it up when I needed a
flaming pineapple full of chicken.
8. I love, love, love laughter. And giggles.
7. I proposed to my husband in Westminster Abbey. I thought it would
be virtually empty there. It was decidedly not. A choir started
singing after we put our rings on.
6. I love cupcakes. Like, seriously.
5. Boston's smoking ban actually helped me quit smoking.
4. One of the best shows I've ever been to was Neutral Milk Hotel at
the Middle East, second only to every Sleater-Kinney show I've been
to.
3. I started dying my hair red in high school because of My So-Called Life.
2. I totally wanted to be a neurosurgeon for the first half of
college, but I did not have enough patience to deal with labs. Also, I
am clumsy, which probably isn't ideal in a surgeon of any kind.
1. My goal this year is to run a 5K.
Oh, and I am not tagging anyone, do the meme if you want to!

Date: 2009-01-29 07:36 pm (UTC)This woman's been playing there for forty-some years. There's a big pool with a wall of glass into the bar, with real mermaids on weekend nights:
GQ put it on a list of 'The Ten Best Bars in the World' several years ago, which was a big deal in Montana. Equally exciting, Daryl Hannah was filming 'Northfork' nearby back whenever that was made and stopped in and took a swim. C'est scandale magnifique!
Anyway, if you're ever in Great Falls, Montana....
6. LYNDELL'S 4EVR / FUCK "KICKASS"
5. Goddamnit, it's true. Same here.
3. That is adorable.
2. Gooood call.
