Ha ha. Apparently Sunday night was a fluke, we were back to usual last night.

Wanted to mention that after all my wailing and gnashing of teeth about Xmas, we managed to finish up shopping on Saturday, and all in all it ended up being not that bad. I'm psyched that we did about 90% of our shopping locally in downtown Salem stores!

Metafilter brought me an awesome new conspiracy theory: were the Middle Ages made up as a historical conspiracy? It is pretty crackpot but kind of a fun read.

We've been watching a pretty sweet documentary about the British monarchy on Netflix. I highly recommend it if you want some history to watch while we all turn into couch potatoes during the winter.

My gift giving dilemmas have been solved by a credit card, one trip to the mall, Fed Ex, and Amazon.com. Go Salem stores for solving your shopping woes in much better fashion!!!

I'm so glad you are feeling better about everything even before little West starts smiling at and then eating all the shiny wrapping papers and. . . cardboard : )

Hee. He seems to be into actually unwrapping things this year! Though I do hope he gets a nice big cardboard box to play in while we're in MD.

So what is the usual for you guys at night these days? We are pretty steady at 7:30pm to 5:30am with one wake-up but had some really and morning there for about a week (waking at 4am or so and having trouble settling until 6am). Last night he slept all the way through which was amazing and made the 5:30 wake-up not seem to bad.

Glad you were able to not only bang out the shopping quickly but do so locally. I thought I was done but forgot a few gifts... which will just be alcohol anyway so last minute is fine!

He goes down pretty easily between 7-7:30, and is up around 5-5:30 (I think he'd sleep a bit later but when he's in bed with us he wakes up when we do, which is why I'm now working on letting him cry it out in the pack & play in our room instead of bringing him into bed). He's still up about two times a night, and I am now trying to cut out the night nursing, because I think that's the culprit. I never thought I'd be one of those moms that people think is weird for nursing past a year, but it's still working ok for us so I figure I'll keep going until he's two (unless he decides he's done with it sooner, but that doesn't seem to be on the near horizon).

We're still nursing at bedtime, in the morning, and often during one night time wake-up. Didn't plan on going this long but he signs for it so I oblige. ;)

I totally missed this somehow. I asked completely redundant questions in my email to you today.

Hope you have a good (and slightly tipsy!) Holiday!
