Oh yeah. Though yesterday was the worst of it, taking today off to recoup. I sincerely didn't think I'd make it home without passing out yesterday afternoon, I went from 100% fine to OMG sick so fast. Tummy bug from Mr. West.
*hugs* That sounds dreadful! (Not the same thing at all, but I totally sliced my index finger up last night and now I can't use it at all and it's surprising how difficult that makes any job using the computer!)
I think they need a slow down button all the time but I'm just super lazy and like to sit down a lot. ;)
Hope you're feeling better. Thank goodness you can take him to daycare and get some rest. This is one of those things that must be so difficult for stay at home moms.
Ha, yeah, I'm with you on that. These kids don't understand the value of a good sit. Seriously, I don't know how SAHMs do it. You can't get a vacation from being a mom, but at least work is something you can take a day or week off from.
He's up to the usual toddler craziness. We're really enjoying just watching him figure things out and communicate with the world. It's totally amazing! He invents little sequences of repetitive activity and does them over and over again as a game.
Food is still something of a struggle but we're slowly making progress and I'm trying to remain zen about the whole thing. Sleep was finally great but got destroyed over Christmas vacation and he's now up 5 times a night again and we're redoing sleep training. SUCKS!
It is amazing! I love the moments when I do something and West immediately copycats, it's so funny to see that he notices everything.
Good for you for remaining zen on food, it is still either a minor or major struggle for us every day. I wouldn't mind so much if he would at least try things before saying no, I can't figure out his criteria for what will be allowed into his mouth. Tonight's dinner: chicken parm, pasta, and zucchini for us. Yogurt and peaches for him. I fail to see why this child won't eat pasta, but I keep trying it anyway.
Oh no, I hope second round of sleep training works. We'd been making some progress on a night-weaning program but were set back by West getting sick this past weekend and then me getting sick. The milk fountain wants to be closed for the night. The milk fountain is getting pretty ready to be closed permanently but isn't going to push it until he's closer to 2 (unless by some miracle he decides he's done before then, which I would be a-ok with). And he's teething again- all four canines are trying to make an appearance.
Parker has yet to eat a fruit or vegetable that isn't in purée form so obviously we are still having issues! He eats protein just fine... Chicken, turkey, and now meatloaf. I give him meat first, either loading on a fork or letting him pick it up, offer a sold veg which he refuses, and then give purée jars to fill him up and ensure he is getting some nutrition. Not ideal but it has cut down on the frustration.
He just got all four molars which is definitely helping on the eating front. He loves using those teeth!
He copies everything too. It's so funny! Our cat has a nasty habit of jumping on the table while we eat and I do a loud clap at her. Now Parker does a big clap and yells at the cat. It's hysterical!
