Over the weekend my mom and I took West to Mall Tots for the usual runnin' around. It was a special Mall Tots day, though, and the Easter Bunny and Elmo were present. Elmo blew West's mind. When he gets really excited West clenches his fists and has whole body shakes of joy. Elmo brought that out. "Big! He's big!" he yelled, pointing at Elmo. Yup, he was big. Then Elmo and the bunny left, so I told West they went to lunch. Then I realized that we were about to go to lunch, and lunch would be disappointing if he expected to see his buddy Elmo there, so I quickly corrected it to "He went back to Sesame Street for lunch. With Big Bird." West's eyes got even wider "Big Bird!" And we successfully had an Elmo-free lunch (helped that the place has a giant fish tank, so West could be entertained by the fish). Even now, days later, he sometimes says "Elmo lunch?"

That must be what it was, they must have done it early this year. I wish I'd known about it, would totally have done the egg hunt!

Even though I'm sure it's a petri dish of germs, I love Mall Tots.

Hee! It is still really hard for me to imagine Quinn talking. He is babbling more and more. Hopefully he will say cute things like West when he does!

I am sure he will be giving super cute orations! It's amazing how the babbling turns into words. And it's so funny to see just how much they pick up from watching/listening. I have to say, I love the talking. It makes life just a little easier to know what he wants (though it doesn't make for less crying just because I know he wants a cookie/Thomas/more basketball).

Ha! Yeah, I'm sure it will happen fast. The toddler age was always so great to work with when I worked at KinderCare because they learn SOOO MUCH everyday. It is just hard to imagine that he is ever going to be at the toddler state because it seems like he's been at the mobile infant stage forever.

OMG, so funny!

The Elmo obsession appears to be universal. Parker is obsessed with Elmo thanks to the Feist video. He wakes up saying Elmo most days and shouts for Elmo when he eats dinner. I may have created a monster!

That is so adorable! I don't even know how the Elmo thing even started, he must have picked it up at daycare, he started talking about Elmo here before we ever introduced him. Now we will happily take advantage of it. There's a documentary about the guy who created and plays Elmo called "Being Elmo," it's actually really heartwarming (heartwarming to the point of inducing tears).

Ha! Love it! Glad to hear he wasn't afraid of the big costumed creatures.

He wasn't afraid of them, but he is afraid of the plastic tree fun fort at daycare. Go figure.

How did your condo offer go this week?

Not well. We didn't submit it. We are in limbo concerning a house purchase at this time. I expect it will remain this way indefinitely. I shouldn't complain--people are used to finding us here at the place we've been for a decade, so it's easier just to stay. We'll see.
