holy crap. seriously, you have never known boredom like having someone read the Anglo-American cataloging rules for 3 hours.
cataloging totally sucks.

i picked out a bunny yesterday.
his name is senor puffkins.
Check out all his majesty

i'm offically sick of library school. it's boring. but i do hope that simmons will send me that student loan check soon.

last night my roommate and i kept the tv on while we were reading (i don't know why we didn't just turn the thing off), and there was this show on mtv that was...interesting. some girl was talking about starting a zine just to meet green day. and then meeting blink-182, and having sex with her boyfriend in blink-182's bus, with the band watching. and that was the greatest day of her life. there was also a crazy guy who's best day was when madonna called him a fat pig. where do they find these people?

classes start today. goodbye, sweet freedom, i have to learn how to catalog things and how computers are helpful in libraries. i'm hoping to learn how to sneakily read magazines in cataloging, that is, when i'm not writing notes to tenille. we're the worst students ever.

i'm very excited, as i'm getting a bunny soon. a bunny named Senorita Puffkins. teehee. it'll be awesome.

this weekend was lots o' fun. so much fun, in fact, that i'm kind of hungover and tired, so will abstain from writing about it. suffice to say that everyone involved in my weekend is super-neato-cool.

sweet! i got an A in my tech services class. wow. apparantly you can a) skip some classes b) show up tipsy (only once!) c) write notes to yr friend through class and d) nod off sometime midway through most classes and still do well. i love grad school. i think what gives me the greatest amount of joy about this is that i'm guessing i got the -same exact- grade as the super obnoxious must-get-A's kissing way too much ass people! ha! reference grade still pending, and i'm sure that one won't be anywhere near an A. whatevah. i do what i want.

i caved and signed up for a telecommunications and networks class for next semester, as it looks like i won't be getting into the management class. oh well.

UPDATE: tee-hee. i got a B+ in reference. now how am i supposed to get motivated to try hard when they just reward me for slackage? i can't really complain, i know, but this is silly. I at least deserved a B-, if that.

what kind of crack were they smoking when they made those 70's claymation christmas specials? i do have a soft spot for the penguin one..

if i had a super-power, it would definitely be eyes that shoot lasers. that would kick ass. i could say "LASERED!" instead of "ARROWED!"

following are some seriously rambly thoughts about school, i'm not sure i recommend reading it. )

i realize i bitch about simmons a fair deal- allow me to preface by saying that while i relish the idea of being a librarian, this library school thing is a bit of a joke. that said- tonight was cool, as we got out of class super-early. however, i have come to the conclusion that many librarians and aspiring librarians are total know-it-alls. the kind that can't stand for a question to go by without throwing their 2 cents in. this is aggravating when it occurs after we've been told that we are definitely getting out early, and only need to review the homework. 6 questions. took 45 minutes. my favorites are the "just out curiosity" questions, aka "i just want you to know that i think i'm smart, so i'm going to ask a totally not-pertinent question." and then, tonight's classic: we are discussing Government Documents. The source is the Government Printing Office web site- 15 minutes were killed when someone asked if we can believe that any documents found on this website are from the federal government. wow. it's the Government Printing Office, people! the reason it took so long was due to the fact that our professor was so kurfuzzled by the question's obvious nature that she tried to make it a more complicated question. i couldn't help but picture someone in the corner going "ARROWED!" tee-hee.
getting out early is my pipe-dream every class, and today it finally came. umm, i do like learnin', just not boring stuff.

"liberal wackos"
on north korea and why they should only get our libes' crappy used books: "they're in the axis of evil anyway"

wow.

buffy was soooo excellent last night. stupid ninjas, though, all interrupting good parts. or rather ninja-esque guys.

simmons has this new registration system that is, i believe, the very definition of total evil.
it is on my list of very uncool things.

so, being the slacker that i am, i decided it would be in the realm of "good ideas" to have a drink before going to class. well, that was a good idea. but the bad idea part came in the form of being 20 minutes late to class. i left Rock Bottom with the perfect amount of time to get from Harvard to Simmons. Alas, once on the E train, the conductor came on the intercom to inform us that there was a "disabled" train ahead. not good. not good at all.
a lesson has been learned.
also, after further reading of Foucault's Pendulum, i take back what i said before. it's a fairly zippy read- but hot damn, those first 2 chapters were painful.
