Writer's Block: How I got on LJ

I will totally lemming it up for this one! I opened my account way back in October of 2002. My boyfriend at the time had an LJ, and I really really really wanted one. Back then you needed to get a code from an existing LJ-er to open an account. Said former boyfriend refused to give me one of his codes, even though he had a bunch, and was totally giving them to chicks on the internet he didn't even know. He said he "didn't think I would use it right."
I had recently started talking to a cute and charming young man at work. During one of our on-the-way-to-library-school chats, he mentioned LJ, and offered me one of his codes.
I started using my LJ. I don't know if it's been "the right way," but I've been having fun with it (and with the cute and charming LJ code-giver) ever since.
