Ok, I would love to attend this at some point. Judgment free dancing to good music! The only thing is I'm not sure how much dancing falls into the forbidden zone of strenuous activity that my current condition outlaws. Damn, I hate being a delicate flower!

I think I could be convinced, yes!
I'll even bring sunglasses so as to keep myself from looking at other people...

I think it sounds like awesome fun! (And I'm pretty sure no one will give you a hard time about dancing. I mean - it's dancing, not ... a strongman competition.) Go Go dance dance party party!!

Phew. I am so paranoid about exercising because I really haven't gotten a clear idea of what's ok/not ok. My midwife and doctor both said "good" when I said I was going to the gym and doing prenatal yoga/pilates, but "good" isn't the most helpful guideline in the world!

Well, frame of reference. You already saw women go through their entire pregnancies doing Kung Fu ... as a fitness instructor, I've worked with women who have gone through their entire pregnancies teaching aerobic classes (step aerobics, kickboxing, cardio, spinning, etc...) -- and these are some pretty intense classes. It all depends on what your level of activity was pre-pregnancy. You can really keep up the same level of activity unless it causes any problems. You need to keep an eye on your heartrate, but otherwise - you should be good to go, barring any scary medical conditions.

Please invite [livejournal.com profile] dr_alycat. She really needs to get out on that dance floor and shake her "groove thang" (as the kids these days are so fond of saying).

whoa... wait a sec and lemme catch up...

you're pregnant?

YAY!!! CONGRATS!!

(and the rule of thumb is that you should be able to continue whatever level of activity whilst pregnant that you did whilst not pregnant. barring actual danger to the abdominal area such as boxing or skiing :P

Yup! Thanks!

We've been disseminating the news slowly because it's still early (start of week 11 today!) and reading the internet has made me paranoid about everything.
